You can feel when a level is about to trap you: too many flavors split across too many plates, and suddenly every move looks “almost right.” Cake Sorting Deluxe is a stack-sorting puzzle where you move the top cake slice between plates to build clean, single-flavor towers. The satisfying part is turning chaos into order without running out of buffer space. Controls Desktop: Click a plate to pick the top slice, click a plate to place Mobile: Tap a source plate, tap a destination plate What you do - Move cake slices one at a time from the top of stacks - Stack only on matching flavors or empty plates (standard rule) - Use empty plates as temporary storage to access deeper layers - Finish by making each plate a single flavor from top to bottom Protect “nearly finished” stacks As soon as you spot a plate with 3–4 matching slices already aligned, treat it like a vault: - don’t place random slices on it “just for space” - use it only to complete that flavor This reduces chaos and prevents you from breaking a good tower later. Buffer space is your oxygen Empty plates are not optional—they are how you solve locked layers. Rule of thumb: - keep at least one plate fully empty at all times - if you have two empty plates, you can solve far more safely Most dead-ends happen when all plates have mixed tops and you can’t create a legal move. The “top color audit” before you touch anything Before making a move, scan only the top slices and ask: - which flavor appears on top the most? - which plate can become a clean collector for that flavor? Start by consolidating the most common top flavor. It creates space quickly and opens deeper matches. Free deep layers with temporary parking When a matching slice you need is buried: - park the blocking top slices onto a “junk plate” temporarily - grab the buried matching slice - return the parked slices only if they help later Don’t rush to “restore” the junk plate. Temporary mess is fine if it unlocks progress. Common mistakes - filling every plate and losing all buffer space - using a nearly completed stack as a dumping spot - making moves that look tidy but don’t reveal new slices - bouncing slices back and forth without committing to a collector stack Mini drill On one level, choose one flavor and decide: “This plate is the home for it.” For the rest of the level, never place a different flavor on that plate.
